Sudo apt install nemo. Looking for a customizable yet light-weight file manager for Linux! It is the best file manager packed with a decent number of features that can even work like a charm on older computers running a Linux distribution. Thunar doesn’t come with a very beautiful user interface, but the 3D icons can help you. BTW, if you ever decide to use Ubuntu instead of Mint but want to keep using Nemo, you can add the ppa from this article. They've also packaged all the nemo plugins. They've also packaged all the nemo plugins.
I would like to replace Nautilus(Default gnome shell file manager) with Nemo file manger in Gnome 3.

You can easily install nemo without cinnamon dependencies, as shown here:
Warning: do not use this PPA if you're using Linux Mint or if you use Cinnamon in Ubuntu! Also, if you've added any Cinnamon PPAs, remove them before using the WebUpd8 Nemo PPA even if you didn't install Cinnamon, or else the Nemo version in the WebUpd8 Nemo PPA might be overwritten.
- Install Nemo:
Update: the PPA now provides Nemo 2.6 for Ubuntu 14.04, 14.10 and 15.04!

DO NOT USE THESE IN 13.10, unless you aren't using a unity-based Ubuntu flavour.
To install the bleeding edge version:
Note: Nemo also shows up as Files in the dash, so the first instance of Files should hopefully be Nemo.
If you want to continue using Nautilus for drawing your desktop icons:
Show all the startup apps:
Then, uncheck the item under Startup Applications that says:
Files
Start Nemo desktop at login
